— Who is Eligible
Four paths into this program.
If any one of these describes your situation, Nuvelle's RN Remediation is built for you.
-
You failed the NCLEX-RN three times.
The FBON requires a Board-approved remedial course before your fourth attempt. Our curriculum is built for this exact scenario; targeted NCLEX-RN prep with the strategy layer that practice questions alone cannot fix.
-
Your RN license has been lapsed for 5+ years.
Florida requires a Board-approved remediation program before reinstating a license that has been inactive for five years or longer. The same applies to licensure by endorsement if you have not actively practiced within that window.
-
You were directed by the FBON to remediate.
Whether the Board flagged your transcript, requires it for reexamination, or specified remediation in writing, your FBON letter is the trigger. We handle the program; you focus on the work.
-
Voluntary admission - refresher track.
Not formally required to remediate but want to refresh your clinical skills before reentry? You can take the same program voluntarily. Same instructors, same curriculum, same ALEX simulation. No Board mandate required.ref
RN Refresher Track · Voluntary Admission
Not under a Board mandate?
You can still take the program.
Most nurses returning to practice after a 1-to-4 year break do not need formal remediation, but they do need the skills sharp again before walking back onto a unit. The Florida RN Refresher track gives you the same curriculum, the same instructors, and the same ALEX simulation as our FBON-approved remediation course. Without the Board letter.

- Theory breakdown
80 hours
Theory or Didactic Course
This is the acquisition and review of nursing knowledge which consists of concepts in medica-surgical; geriatric; psychiatric and mental health; maternity and newborn; and pediatric nursing.
Other related concepts relevant to nursing education and practice are integrated into each category of nursing. The course follows the Client Needs as used by the National Council of
State Board of Nursing (NCSBN) as the framework of this course. The student learning outcomes (SLO’s) will be assessed and evaluated through NCLEX style questions and the Next
Generation (NGN) exams. These are simulated NCLEX assessments that will enhance the learner’s knowledge and skills and gain the competence and confidence in responding to actual NCLEX exams and real- world clinical situations. Successful completion of practice NCLEX Exams assignments and Proctored Exams are requirements to complete the course.
An authorization letter is not required to begin the theory component of the remedial course.
— Clinical breakdown
96 Hours
Clinical Course & Training
This is the application level in Bloom’s cognitive domains of learning. The course will require clinical training to the assigned facility and in clinical simulation. A complete clinical documentation is required prior to starting clinical training. An authorization from the Board of Nursing is required before the start of clinical course.
Clinical training may include but not limited to appropriate settings in acute care, long-term care, and community-based care.
When progressing to the clinical portion of the course, Nuvelle will request a Letter for Approval to begin the clinical portion of the remedial course. The request should include the following: (4)
Name of the remedial program provider
Type of course by profession type
Number of completed theoretical hours
Name and location of your clinical site (facility’s name)
Anticipated date of completion of the clinical component.
