This course is designed for LPN applicants and licensed practical nurses who need structured remediation before moving forward with licensure, NCLEX-PN retesting, license reactivation, or clinical re-entry.

NCLEX-PN remediation

For applicants who have failed the NCLEX-PN three consecutive times and need an approved remedial course before retesting.

Board-directed remediation

For practical nurses who received direction from the Florida Board of Nursing to complete remedial education.

Lapsed or inactive license

For LPNs working through license reactivation who need refreshed nursing theory, clinical skills, and documentation support.

The LPN Remediation Course reinforces the nursing knowledge, clinical reasoning, and hands-on skills needed for safe entry-level practical nursing practice. Students review essential procedures, apply clinical judgment, and prepare for the 96-hour clinical portion of the remedial course.

Patient assessment support

Focused observations, vital sign review, changes in condition, and reporting findings to the RN or provider.

Clinical judgment

Recognizing cues, identifying patient needs, prioritizing safe care, and responding within the LPN scope of practice.

Medication administration

Safe medication practices, dosage checks, patient rights, documentation, and medication teaching reinforcement.

IV and line care awareness

IV site observation, complication awareness, reporting changes, and line care concepts based on facility policy and scope.

Wound care and infection control

Dressing care, wound observation, sterile and clean technique review, and infection prevention standards.

Foley catheter care

Catheter care, urinary output monitoring, securement review, removal concepts, and CAUTI prevention.

Mobility and patient safety

Safe transfers, fall prevention, positioning, skin protection, and assistance with activities of daily living.

Reporting and documentation

Accurate documentation, SBAR communication, timely reporting, and coordination with the supervising nurse.

The central focus of this course is the development and application of clinical judgment in practical nursing practice. Entry level nurses are expected to make complex and effective decisions within their scope of practice while carrying out nursing interventions that support client safety.

This program assists practical nursing students and graduates in preparation for NCLEX-PN success and readiness to join the entry level practical nursing workforce.
